Holger Hesse founded Ambu in 1937, initially named the company Testa Laboratory. Since 1937, Ambu has been rethinking solutions, together with healthcare professionals, to save lives and improve patient care. We are focused on supporting healthcare professionals within two fields of excellence: Endoscopy Solutions and Anaesthesia & Patient Monitoring. Breakthrough invention was the world’s first self-inflating resuscitator, the Ambu® Bag™ in 1956 and world’s first single-use flexible bronchoscope – the Ambu® aScope™ in 2009. In the last five years alone, we have expanded our presence in pulmonology to the fields of ENT (ear, nose, throat), urology and GI (gastroenterology).
