MTaI Internal Code of Conduct
- We will do what we say.
- We will be respectful of each member.
- We will place all our agenda transparently on the table and then let the group decide which of these it will take up and in what priority.
- Will volunteer our time and energy for the cause. Will pull our weight.
- Will make sure that we respond to each other latest in 48 hours. (When a response or complete response is not possible in that time frame, we must inform as to by when would be able to respond)
- Will further the industry agenda agreed upon in the meetings, meeting all deadlines we agree to.
- Will conduct our business ethically and in line with best corporate practices.
- We will all the time foster a spirit of genuine camaraderie through our trustworthy and gracious behaviour not only towards our members, but also towards MTaI Staff and other associations. (High stress, outcome targeted advocacy needs a creative space for well-considered movement forward. Genuine camaraderie, bonhomie and non- combative behaviour helps create such an environment which will continually enable us to move the needle).
- This kind of an atmosphere also allows MTaI to continue giving leadership opportunities to professionals of different strata in a non-threatening and collaborative milieu.
- As medical technology providers will strive to claim our place under the Sun. Will try to be a frontrunner on the path to policy makers, Press, Parliamentarians, Patients and hospitals
- Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption: MTaI is committed to ensuring that all its member companies adhere to applicable Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption laws including the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. MTaI and its members have zero tolerance towards giving of bribes or corruption, in any form, directly or indirectly. The following principles shall be mandatorily followed while, conducting any work on behalf of MTaI:
- All meetings/ discussions interactions with any public, Government, regulatory, judicial, statutory, political party or state officials or health care/ medical practitioners shall be confined to legitimate business objectives authorized by MTaI.
- No member company, while conducting such business on behalf of MTaI, shall directly or indirectly through any other party, provide or give any impression of offering or providing any bribe or anything of value for personal or professional benefit of such official or provide any preferential treatment to such official(s).
- For all interactions with medical practitioners on behalf of MTaI, the member companies shall respect the applicable regulations, professional conduct and ethical codes/ guidelines.
- Any unauthorized act committed by an individual member(s) on behalf MTaI, which amounts to an offence under any applicable Anti-Bribery and Anti- Corruption law including but not limited to those mentioned herein, shall not be supported by MTaI and shall have to be defended singularly by the said individual member company or its officials.
- Competition: MTaI believes that an industry can only flourish in a competitive and a free market economy. MTaI must run its operations in compliance with applicable laws regulating competition like the Competition Act, 2002. In this regard, MTaI encourages its members to follow below standards of fair-trade practices:
- compete transparently and independently and do not make any agreements formal or otherwise with competitors to fix or set prices or allocate products, markets, territories or customers.
- Do not obtain or share with competitors current or future information about price, profit margins or costs, bids, market share, distribution practices, terms of sales, specific customers or vendors.
- In a nutshell we will claim for medical technology providers an honorable and salubrious place through hard work, concern for all, harmony and integrity.
